Electric Fireplace Wall

Transforming a blank wall into a focal point.
I find a fireplace, so cozy and calming, and I always wanted one in my bedroom. Here I had the perfect opportunity to make that happen.
There are so many realistic electric fireplaces on the market now and the best thing with this fireplace, I can use it with or without heat so it can be used year round!
First, I drew out the plans for what I envisioned and hubby got to work framing from floor to ceiling, framing out an opening for the fireplace insert and tv mount and adding electrical outlets.
Next we covered with shiplap, built a custom mantle using pine boards, and added hinges to the bench so it could be used for extra storage.
These additions can easily be scaled to size for any space available. It adds such a lovely, warm ambiance, I wonder how I ever did without it.

The product recommendations are spot on! Would love to see more modern and minimalist design inspirations.

Hi, we are looking to do the exact same thing in our master but are struggling with our plans on how high the tv can go. We want a bench, the fireplace and a mantle below it. How high is your tv and does it work for you? Thanks!

      Hi Erin,
Thank you for your question, however, unfortunately I am not able to accurately answer it. We sold that home and I cannot remember the exact measurements we had. We did have a tv mount that could tilt so even though it was a little higher than what is recommended for “proper” viewing we had no issue with it. I hope that helps.
